Who We Are

We are a small group of men and women fueled by passion and service who are working to provide homes for and meet the needs of orphaned children in Zambia.

We are currently supporting two International Projects outside of Lusaka Zambia: The Nyumba Yanga Orphanage, and Future in My Hands: St. Joseph’s College.

Homes of Joy is a registered charity in Canada, and a not-for-profit organization; qualified to issue tax receipts for eligible donations.

We are non-political – our only agenda is to meet the needs of the orphaned girl children.  It is our intent to work closely with local leaders, other NGOs, and Government Agencies to ensure the success and stability of our projects.

We are governed by a Board of Directors, and dependent on an integral network of volunteers who support our work both domestically and abroad.

We are all working on a voluntary basis; none of board members or volunteers receive any financial remuneration for their work for the organization.

We believe in the principles of grassroots development; building capacity from the bottom up through working closely with local leaders on the ground (such as the CIC Sisters who are running both The Nyumba Yanga Project and Future In My Hands).
